Brooklyn College provides a transformative, distinctive, and affordable education to students from all backgrounds. We are proud of our history of intellectual freedom and academic excellence, as well as our location in a borough known for innovation, culture, and the arts. We have a special commitment to serving immigrants and first-generation college students, and other underrepresented minority students from the diverse communities that make up our city and state.
Brooklyn College is also a local center for community outreach by scientists and students alike who create and maintain different education and community-based programs in collaboration with local schools and the community in different areas.
We are currently identifying partners in the borough, and also funding opportunities to support our outreach efforts. Specific goals for community outreach include public seminars (science, resources); information on treatment options, access to clinical trials, prevention, supportive care, aftercare; and medical-translation training.
